Tommy Sheridan admitted visiting a swingers’ club twice for “cheap thrills”, a court heard yesterday.
Jurors saw a 40-minute video allegedly showing the former MSP agreeing he visited Cupid’s sex club in Manchester with two women.The High Court in Glasgow heard the married socialist had affairs with both women. In the video, a man identifed as Sheridan describes one of the women as “a diamond”, adding that “she will never admit anything”.

Sheridan and his wife Gail, both 46, are accused of lying under oath during his successful 2006 defamation action against the News of the World. They deny the allegations. The tape played to the court, which was released to the News of the World following Sheridan’s defamation action, showed two men talking in a room in a flat.
Witness Carolyn Leckie, a former Scottish Socialist Party MSP, identified them as her former colleague Sheridan and George McNeilage, who was best man at his wedding. In the footage Sheridan allegedly talks about “going to Manchester in 2002”. He said: “Alan pulled me up over it – I said to him look, you know, stupid, should not have done it. “Done it once before in ’96, went back in 2002. Cheap thrill, but it’s been done.” Read more.
