Cameron Diaz’s new film, Bad Teacher, opens on Friday.
Diaz is willing to play a woman who swears, who isn’t likable in the traditional Hollywood sense, and who appears to enjoy sex.
“My favorite part of this film was there wasn’t one ounce of energy spent trying to make anything about this character lovable,” Diaz says. “I went 30 pages into the script and thought, ‘There’s no way I can ever redeem her.’ I love it!”
“Even mean characters in movies are usually so sorry about it in the end,” she says. “This character? She’s not sorry.”
